I did, last year. It all hinges on your state of mind. If you go into it feeling like crap and expecting the day to get worse, you'll be miserable. If, on the other hand, you look at it as the chance to catch up on CSI on DVD (just for an example :p) without anyone bothering you, you'll have a great time. Cook yourself a mini-holiday dinner, open some wine, and do all the things you can't do with other people in the house.

There are plenty of passions to pursue in San Diego and that hotelbye is the area to start discovers what San Diego needs to offer. In the San Diego holiday you will stage external of one's comfort zone and you'll investigate new activities while you are here and you could only realize that finding a fresh search is definitely an experience in itself. One of many places must see from San Diego is Balboa Park. This park has over a 1400 acre and here you'll find historic structures, numerous museums, gardens, and green space. The park was designed for the Panama California Exhibition of 1915-1916. The predominant architecture is Spanish-Mexican type, low level houses that merge with the organic surroundings. One of the features of the park are the Botanical Gardens and lily pond, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Natural History, the San Diego Museum of Art, and the famous San Diego Zoo. Even although you never get into a making the park is merely an attractive place.

I spent last year alone, just watched TV and ate a tv dinner lol everyone was out of town and i didn't have the money to go with..it was ok i got to catch up on sleep and got to relax. But i like that one girls idea of going to the shelter im sorry i didn't even think of that last year, i might do that if i have time this year or make my friends come with me. Why are you asking this? I hope you don't have to spend the holidays alone :(

Crying. I spend every Holiday last year alone (well not alone ... with my newborn) because my b/f is a police officer and worked every single Holiday and over time on top of that. The nearest family I got is 120 miles away. But this year I am sooo thankful that my daugther is older (1 1/2 yo) and my b/f got off on Halloween and Thanksgivings :))) He does work on Christmas and New years so I'm going to drive to my familys house!
Holidays are VERY important to me!!

I'm not alone. I have a baby cat. We are making phyllo wrapped salmon filets with cream sauce, rice pilaf and garlic green beans. Haven't decided if I want the dried cranberries in the rice or the green beans yet. Definitely an apple tart tatin and homemade vanilla bean ice cream for desser.
Well, I'm making dinner, the cat will just watch me make it. I'm a professional 'cook' (I'm in charge of the dietary department/nutritonal services for an upscale medical facility) so we tend to eat things like that every day, anyways. Not doing anything special.
As far as humans go, meh. My nearest family members are in California if I go West, Sweden if I go East. So I'm 3000 miles away from pretty much everyone I care about. I've made a few friends here, but I don't go much for 'pity invites' so I've been dodging them lately. I don't mind being alone, so I will actually enjoy this day, I'm sure.

I am. This year I'm staying home...watchin' p*rn...
Hey, you asked...
Actually, to the woman above me...I tried to work at a shelter last year, but they wouldn't let me because I couldn't guarantee at least a three month commitment. In San Diego, you can't just go down to one and try to work...I have been wanting to do this for a long time, but have such a crazy schedule, I can't commit for any length of time longer than about a week at a time. It's too bad, really. That would be much better than staying home...

Maybe. I know I'm second on somebody's list. If he doesn't get a better offer, maybe I'll see him. I usually spend Christmas alone because it had little meaning for me.

I wouldn't want to be alone, so I would go help at a shelter. Give to others and be around people doing positive things..
