We are at a loss. We don't want to do an open adoption, but other than that we are open to suggestions. Are there schollarships, grants, anything in Texas??
Thanks for your help.

I haven't heard of any scholarships or grants, but an inexpensive way to adopt is to go through your state department of Child & Family Services or equivilent. Usually if you adopt a foster child (especially over the age of 1) the expenses involved are nominal. There are many "normal" young children in foster care waiting to be adopted. (I used to be a foster parent in Nevada and had some very "normal" foster children.) When you are going through the process of selecting a child to adopt they are very open with sharing the child's history with you. They want you to know as much as you can going in so that the chances of the adoptive placement being sucessful are optimum. It varies from state to state how this works, but I think from what you are asking, this would be the best place to start. Good Luck! Adoption is a wonderful experience!

There are legal, Christian Organizations all over the internet to talk too. Try one of these. I am only confused about the "normal' child thing. If an open adoption is not what you want, then you want someone to just give up their baby to you? Best to use a lawyer and do it all legal. Not fair to you are the child if you do not.

Cheap adoption there is no such thing but what bothers me is the normal child. What would you call a normal child. A child to us would be healthy. Normal is in the eyes of the beholder. Go to a christian adoption site and seek advice to don't look for a normal child look for a healthy child. A Disabled child is normal just with more needs. Perhaps you would be better off adopting a puppy. Children are gifts from God no matter what condition they come in.

You can adopt an older child or one that might be harder to place. All children are "normal" some are just needing more attention than others.

You can do a private adoption if you can find a young woman to give you her baby but most want money for the adoption and their medical bills paid.

there are no guarantees on 'normal' even when you have your own. there is always a risk of a disabled or child with a special need. even when you have your own. try international adoption.
