On November 20, 1982, California played Stanford in the last game of the year. California won 25-20 on The Play. People forget that Stanford QB John Elway, in his last college game, had a tremendous drive at the end of the game to get a field goal, for the lead with 4 sec to go, 20-19. In the drive, Stanford had a 4th & 17 on their own 13 yard line. Elway threw a 29 yd completion to keep the drive going. ESPN Classic Shows the game every so often.
