Perhaps the morning sun was shining on the side windows but not on the windscreen. If I know there is going to be a frost during the night, I park my car so the windscreen will face the rising sun.

Frost forms as water droplets in the air condense on a surface and then freeze.
Where these droplets land depends on how they form. If they are increasing in size and getting heavier they fall out of the air. They will then land on the windscreen of the car because it faces upwards but the side windows are vertical so they wont catch any.

If the weather conditions are right then this kind of frost will occur.

Maybe the windscreen is slanted allowing water condensing out of the air to settle on it. The side windows are vertical so any water condensing is less likely to settle on the windows

Maybe the wind was blowing mainly onto your front windows, therefore that is where you found the most frost.

If there's no breeze then the frost will fall evenly, but if it picks up then Jack gets blown about.
