Department store jobs suck in general not just walmart so why pick on them most jobs dont even offer health insurance in entry level especially retail I think its BS im not saying walmarts so great and wonderful but I dont think they are worse then kmart or target or any other large department store they are just the biggest. Well thats what i think what about you?

Walmart is so much more agressive than K-mart or Target or many other chain box stores. Walmart has a history of going into communities undecutting all the local or even regional stores on price so deeply that they can only afford the loss because of how big they are as a corporation. They when all the local competition has gone away they raise the price of everything in the store and are the only place left to shop in the community. Other chain grocery stores do allow unions in them and/or don't treat the employees as bad as WalMart does. WalMart seems to be the most in your face example of one choice or no choice shopping at its worst.

Please watch HIGH PRICE OF LOW COST and then if you still like them work there. I did for 6 mo out of High School this was the worst I was ever treated I remember once I was asked to work 8-3 no biggie then asked to stay from 3-10 I did I was on probation you know. Then I went home only to be called back in at 3am and was reminded on the phone that I was on probation. And when I went in at 3am it was to help with the remolding and pull carpet up I was hired as a cashier. When I complained (really just asked and explained I was way to tired to do this) I was asked to give my apron and leave.

Wasn't it the workers that were complaining about their benefits?
Anyways, they put small businesses out of business --- sometimes directly and intentionally.
True story... small company makes baby clothes. They go to Walmart to see if they're interested. Walmart says they'll buy a million (figuratively). Company takes loan out to buy materials for huge order. They ship to Walmart and they don't buy because Walmart says that they will sell them if and when the market is ready. Small business can't repay bank loan and goes out of business.
This happened to a co-worker's father.

i dunno, ive never heard of walmart before so i have nothing against it. the biggest supermarket i know is tesco, and people dont like it because it is closing down all the small businesses inside the town, making our town recently described as a 'ghost town'
