Ultimately, it all depends upon what type of field you plan to go into, for example the sciences, law, medicine, history and so on.

Cambridge (or Oxford University) stated earlier this year that they will soon disregard applications from students taking two or more so called "easy subjects", the most notable ones being Business Studies, ICT, Psychology and Media Studies.
Apparently, these subjects require less traditional learning. However, this doesn't mean to say they are necessarily easy- I took A2 level ICT and Business, and although I gained a strong A grade in the latter subject, I struggled with ICT and managed a D grade overall. I would say that neither of those were easy- all A Levels are challenging and much different to GCSEs.

Back onto the most valued subjbects however, I would say that possibly the harder, more traditional subjects could be more valued. For instance, the sciences and maths are sought after in subjects where you think that they might not be required. By having grades in these subjects it shows that you can learn in the way universities would like you to be able to, due to the course syllabuses.

Getting it down to a top three? That would be very difficult, although Maths would definitely be one I would advise.

my pal has been in this lawlink and medlink direction for scientific and regulation pupils and the supply you training on how the colleges decide on their pupils. She pronounced at the beginning they %. them on the bases of dazzling grades as in A*s,A s or B's in GCSE and a point. Then they seem on the matters and those they do no longer particularly evaluate as a suitable matters are(no offence against every person right here):paintings, drama, technologies, intense thinking, business enterprise and so forth.their precise 3 ones are sciences, maths historic previous and others that they think of particularly tremendously of after those are languages like french, regulation and others relating to the section you're utilising for.i'd say choose for sciences, maths, historic previous or a language because of the fact they do assist you to boost diverse skills and that they take you a procedures in existence too because of the fact their are lots of branches of technological awareness, whether you re working area-time someplace noone ever tells you off for doing sciences.even regardless of the indisputable fact that it additionally relies upon i'd desire to declare on the profession you're utilising for,if it particularly is business enterprise or artistry then you particularly'll needthem matters yet even doing one technological awareness won't harm in any respect.i decide directly to be a physician so iam doing 3 sciences and maths, even regardless of the indisputable fact which you would be able to produce different combos for As like historic previous particularly of physics or french, paintings, geography, yet as you do 3 matters in A2 they definitely decide on bio, chem and maths for it.wish that helps!
