I hardly go on the computer, but this computer is old and I am thinking of getting a laptop. I will mostly use it for games and internet. I heard Apple's are good but is it worth the price? What type do you recommend?

Whatever you choose will probably be fine. Go for what has the features you like, especially a good keyboard and touchpad.

BUT the main thing to know is that laptops are flaky and will all break down over time. So whatever you do, INVEST IN A SERVICE PLAN. Get a cheaper laptop and the best service plan. I recommend Best Buy's service plans the most. When something goes wrong - and it will - they will fix it for free and you will have your laptop back in a few days (Best Buy just started a new thing where servicing is done in like 48 hours). After 4 times of something going wrong (doesn't have to be the same something at Best Buy), you get a new laptop.

I got an Apple this year - I absolutely love it! It comes with "airport" so whenever you are near wireless internet you can connect for free. It's just another plus to getting an Apple.

Also, Apple stores offer free, short classes for newbies, as well as classes for the various programs you may want to add to your computer. I love the hands on teaching.

Apple's come automatically ready to go - the browser is "Safari" which is not compatible with some website's downloads (which also helpd prevent the spyware and viruses), but if it's an issue, you can aways download Internet Explorer onto your Mac.

Don't listen to these people! You need to get a PC laptop with Windows! It comes with wireless networking that remembers every wireless point just like mac....I wouldn't recommend mac's because most of programs are only compatiable with the windows operating system....and it might take a while getting use to that interface! I would recommend you to buy a dell laptop (inspiron or xps) All you have to do is go to www.dell.com, browse through laptops for home/office, and call them. You can tell them which one has got your eye, or you can tell them what you want out of your laptop and they will find the perfect one!

DELL IZ THE BEST! MY family is all DELL!

Likely HP/Compaq is better choice for game. LCD mostly 1280x1024 pixels resolution, same stereo sound quality with others, but have more use of software than Apple.

get a dell XPS or Inspiron, if not then get a HP.
try to get one with a core 2 duo and at least 1 gb ram and a great graphic(+256mb) if you wanna play on it.
apples are expensive, that's the main problem with apple.

If you get a Apple you will love it but if you get a Dell you will regret it.
