Talk about something that affects the people in the world:
Such as pollution.
Or talk about your idol: A) Why is he/she your idol? B) How you plan to achieve whaty they have achived. C) What about them inspires you.
Say why this year was a fun year. Bring the topic back to the school. Or your friends. But something in your community.

I just did one of theese for comm. app. at my school. the best idea is to do it about a short quote like "No pain no gain" of "When life gives you lemons make lemonaide."
