i've set up my mothers computer with itunes so i could put music on my ipod (my ipod is originally synced with my computer at home but now i don't have the internet).

i just want to put a few things onto her itunes to update to my ipod, but some answers on here say you can, so say you can't. how do select "maually manage music" that everyone says select? do i have to wait until i plug in my ipod? if i plug in my ipod will it erase my music?

she doesn't even have any music on hers yet, like i said, i'm just trying to add a couple things to my selecting, not replace it...

If your iPod is set to automatically sync and you plug it into your mothers computer then you will lose the music. To prevent that happening plug it into the computer it was originally synced to. If you have iTunes 7, then go to Devices > Your iPod on the left hand side of the screen. On the main iPod screen towards the bottom there is a tick box for "Manually Manage my Music" or something along those lines.

If you have an older version of iTunes go to Options > iPod > General and you can select this option there.

You are then able to plug your iPod into your mothers computer and copy what music you want onto it. However - your iPod will no longer automatically sync when you plug it into your older computer - you will have to manually move it over (drag and drop).

Good luck with it all.
