I want to do this without using a subscrition to a address search engine, or anything that involves me paying money.

Phone them & ask them.

If you explain why you need their address and they won't give it to you, maybe they have a good reason & maybe you should respect that.

most current mobile phones come with GPS it stands for Global Positing Satellites. it can find out whare a person is in the world down to their block in real time. but its is not avalable to the public. but if you do in some possible way happen to find uout some way to get to it then just call the person ask them if they are at home then go to the GPS and it will tell you teir location.

You can try to find out who the service contract is with. Some companies now list the numbers.

Unfortunately this data is still protected by the cell phone companies. The only way to legally get this is to subscribe to a service.
