It says something like, "A problem occurred while trying to transfer file ----------,"

The disc is barely scratched and actually is pretty cleaned up. Anyone know how I can save this disc?? I have alcohol 120% and was thinking about burning it to a blank disc and trying to re-install it. Any ideas? Or will it not let me? Help! I don't want to pay another $40!!!

I'm not really sure if alcohol would help, but burning it to another disc sounds pretty good. Just to be on the safe side, you might want to test-burn it to a CD-RW first so you won't waste a CD-R if it should mess up in the middle of the burning process. (At least you could always erase the CD-RW should that happen...) Then try installing the game from the CD-RW. If there's no problem with it, then copy it to a CD-R. Hope this helps. =)

I've heard it can be done with toothpaste. They say you have to go in one direction only. from the center to the out side STRAIGHT. But weight for more input from others. I've also seen a man buff them out at a video rental place.
