They are now starting it 10/1. I know because my b-day is 10/11 and it freaks me out to see Christmas stuff before my birthday. They shouldnt call it Christmas day, it should be Christmas Quarter. It is sad how retailers try to capitalize on Christmas by pushing it 2 months in advance!

It's all to do with advertising. (and greed) I think they think that the earlier they get in with their commercials then the more customers they will get coming to their store to buy Christmas presents, simple as that.
Disgusting, isn't it?
