Forget it!
I have a great many modern books in my library, yet 25 % of all my books are older than the one you mention.
It may be a great book, but I doubt it is WORTH anything!

Basicallyit comes down to finding someone who collects material related to either cathedrals in general, that specific cathedral, or that area. Based on the subject, I can't imagine that there were that many copies of the book published. (Dictionaries and Bibles are usually worthless, since there are so many of them).

If there are pictures in the book, that'll make it more attractive to collectors. Naturally, the better the condition the more it'll be worth. Good luck with it, and follow the advice of the other respondants about taking care of the tome in the meantime.

First of all, protect it. Do not touch it more than necessary and put it in a plastic ziploc bag. Keep it out of direct sunlight. Then take it to a bookstore that deals in old books and get it appraised. It may or may not be worth a great deal of money.

you should take it to the antiques roadshow! They know everything about old things. By the way, it'll probably be worhth a lot depending on who wrote it, what time period it was written in, and the shape it is in.

right condition is everything however this book is not limited supply and just because its old wont make it valuable i would say no more than 20 dollars and you'd probably be best just to hang on to it because old books are ornate.

probably, take it to a rare bookstore and find out

if you don't have any of those around, look up their phone numbers and just try calling them... I know there are some in NYC, probably in other major cities too
