I, personally, spend almost my entire day in the internet. I use about 20% if that of my time on the internet in idle activity such as downloading, playing games, etc.

I see the internet as an information tool. I use most of my time on the internet researching information, finding answers to questions, and many relevant things to my education or development.

I am one of those people who disagrees with blog sites in particular. My view: If you want people to see your opinions, you should buy your own domain name. That's not to say that people care about your opinion in the first place. It's a waste of internet space and your own time to bash on others and things of that nature on sites such as MySpace, Xanga, etc. What real effect does it have? I'd personally rather voice my opinions face-to-face with a person than hide behind a monitor and talk about them where they can't reach me.

But I digress, there are good uses for blogs, such as developers blogs where they might inform the public of their own discoveries.

P.S. Did you know that a scientific study says that you can lower your IQ by as much as 5 points if you are a frequent instant messenger? I don't have a source on that, but I know it's out there.

Pretty much online from 9-5 since I work as the IT Admin for my company. Then I am on from 6 until 1am or so playing MMOs. So year I am pretty much online about 50-60% of the time.

Pretty much. I spend hours on the ‘net during work and then again at home. It’s rather depressing now that I think about it. For some people it is TV and for others it’s the Internet.

That's a good point. When I started using the internet I was building websites and stuff. Now all I do is buy stuff, check my bank accounts and p1ss about talking b0ll0cks on messageboards and writing drivel like this.

Oh God! What's happened to my life?! I could have been a contender!

I suppose it is, I have no life outside school and the net really. But that's how I choose to be, I have loads of friend online and I would much rather talk to them then have to talk to some people in know. Nothing against my non net friends but if I want to talk personal I don't feel I can talk to them, I also feel excluded from friends, non of them call to ask me out or whatever. But yeah I love my online friends.

Yessssssssssss its very addictive, lost count of the times I switch on JUST to check my mail, and three, four hours later....!

But then again, its like having a huge library at your fingertips, a door to meet and chat with other people one would not have imagined. Keeps me in touch with my daughter across the pond, in the USA, I can see my grandchild, he can see me, thank heavens for the INTERNET!
