Vehicle is a 91 Chevy S10 Blazer with a 4.3L TBI. Vehicle starts, and idles alright, but has a extreme dead spot, and doesnt want to go more than 25 MPH. I removed the can style fuel filter, and connected a hose to the fuel line into a plastic milk jug. I cranked the engine over several times with the coil disconnected, and the milk jug only filled up about an inch of gas. Could the fuel pump be faulty?

I just replaced my fuel pump on 91' Chevy 2500 w\350cid.

$250.00 for the pump.

Oh, by the way. those fuel pumps only run 14-16psi for TBI system.
Mine was doing about 5psi., Had good flow though, but not enough pressure.

The fuel pump is on a two second relay. When you turn the key on, the pumps turns off after two seconds (if you don't try to start it)

Just like yours, mine would start just fine and idle all day, I could "limp" it to the gas station at about 15 mph, but that was it.

Put a pressure gage on the line, if you get less than 7psi, it's toast.

I don't think it's your fuel pump. I think it's the spark that's getting you.

You probably have a faulty ground wire from the battery to the engine block. You might also try replacing your spark plug wires.

Your truck is 15 years old. Replacement of these items is long overdue. I had the same thing happen to me on a Ford once. You'd hit the gas and it would laugh at you as it died, but idled fine. Replaced the spark wires and it did fine.

Fuel pump seems to be the problem. The pumps on those hold presssure above 40psi under load.
