I have Yahoo DSL, but now I have to pay for my phone line which I never use. I already have Comcast cable (50$/mo), I'm wondering if it'd be better to switch to Triple Play where each one is $33?? I mean since when does Comcast have phone? I dont need it, but I'm not too excited about VoiP service. Is Cable faster than DSL?

I had SBC DSL and home phone. And also had Comcast digital with HBO. Those bills were running me $300+ a month. I have since switched everything over to Comcast and pay $150, so it cut it in half. By the way, Comcast is faster! :-)

If you really want to save money, keep the Yahoo DSL, switch your phone service to the lowest cost offering (no frills, just basic phone service) and switch to basic, basic cable. This should get you to $15 for the DSL, $16 for your phone, and $12 for your cable. Almost no one knows of the BASIC (not extended basic) cable. Cable companies are required to offer it, although never advertise it. You would be down to about $45/mo for everything. Now that's a deal.

Add up how much you pay now for all your phone lines, unlimited access internet, and cable. See how much Triple Play would be after any beginning months discounts (sometimes they increase after three months). Then decide which comes out better. There are two types of DSL (if I understand correctly): x5 and x25. x5 is not much better than dial-up but x25 is pretty good. Cable is definately better than x5 if you have that.

If nothing else, you will go from having to write out three checks a month down to one.
