Please dont answer this if you dont even know much about basketball other than the fact that Iverson scores alot. Because the Denver Nuggets are doing well right now and possibly will continue to do better even in the playoffs, but they took a risk bringing AI to their team which was already looking pretty good. AI can score, but he cant pass like Andre Miller, and at this stage it would be better for them to have a playmaker than another scorer who might have problems with Melo. Yeah sure the Nuggets may 'seem' unbeatable with AI but they took a big risk bringing him to a team that is already doing well.

I don't like it, bringing the league's top 2 leading scorers together? Obviously there is going to be some friction. Plus Denver has great chemistry going on, now they traded their floor general Andre Miller. Plus giving up 2 1st round draft picks... next June's draft is going to be loaded w/ tons of talent, even deep in the 1st round. Denver didn't wanna give up Miller at all cause he's a pure PG where A.I. isn't. The Nuggest aren't going to be as great as everyone thinks, trust me. They still have to get past the Spurs, Mavs and Suns in the West, good luck Nuggets.

I follow basketball religiously. And heres my take on the deal:

Denver is in the West. Thats most important. With their current team, Denver would never make it past the first round unless they got a 1 or 2 seed which likely will never happen. If they were in the east, its a different story.

As far as Andre Miller goes. Andre is a great lob passer, and a good fit for a up and down team. However he is a shoot first pg. He does get assists but its more from a product of his offensive system. He gets lobs, and fast break passes. When you run a high octane offense you need speed, and nobody is faster than Iverson.

As far as the scoring goes, yes both players number should go down a little as far as scoring. However Melo has developed as a great post up, curl, catch and shoot player. At least thats why he is so effective now is because of Karls use of him. He was more of a holder of the ball his 1st and second year in the league. But Karl has changed that and WOW can u see a difference. Its gonna be the same with Iverson. Now with Iverson he gets to handle the ball differently. Maybe not as much but he will be more effective. Not as many shots but better shots via product of a fast up and down team with great post play by melo. His assists will go up towards best in the league with Melo, Camby and JR smiths open court athleticism.

If you ask every NBA Player coach what kinda of system they want to run it would be a PHX, Denver type of game. I think that Iverson will have more fun in this year than he has ever had in philly.
