Depends on the size of the ball said piece was taken from.if for instance the ball was 10 meters long and you have 8 meters left on the ball, providing that no-one else has taken any string from the ball ,then You would have a piece of string approximately 2 meters in length .On the other hand if your ball of string is elasticated then that's a whole different ball game.please can you confirm whether elasticated or not, you have to be more specific you see?
