I got an email from somebody I don't know, asking for me to help them get a gmail account. It is in a comic sans font blue, and actually, I know somebody with the last name that they have, but do you think it is a scam.
It doesn't really look like one!

Don't do anything (don't even click Reply) without checking via other means.

Typically anything that arrives 'out of the blue' via eMail asking you to do something (anything) is some sort of virus, rip-off or scam.

If you think it's from a real friend, then phone them (or text them) & ask (do anything to contact them EXCEPT clicking 'Reply' on the eMail)

No doubt some 'helpfull' web site adddress will be included in the email that when you 'click' on it will take you somwhere you might not want to go to (porn site etc. that loads itself into your PC and then becomes your new 'home page' / 'wallpaper' etc ...)

Or maybe you will end up at what looks like a gmail log-in page = and when you type in your email password your account gets hijacked and some-one starts looking through your saved email for details of your Bank a/c etc plus starts sending all your friends eMails asking for help getting a gmail account...).
