here r some signs
a sweet tooth like chocolate
moody and can be emotional and cry easy.
pimples and break out.
tummy pains that you normally don't get
sometimes your whole body aches or just your lower back.
These r the most I can think of.If your scared it will just happen when your out then just make sure u r prepared and have a sanitary napkin in your bag or purse ready to go at all times. They also sell panties at the dollar store that r called throw aways and they come in very small packeges so it doesn't take up much room and if you have a locker at school just have an extra pair of pants in there just in case.Well I hope i could help and just a suggestion but if you don't have a mom to talk to about this then u could always talk to your phys-ed teacher

Don't worry, half the people in the world get a first period and they survive!
The signs would be some bloating, especially of the lower abdomen, some cramping, swollen and tender breasts. These signs will come on a few days before your period.
My nieces have both gone through this recently, and for both of them it started really slow, they saw a little blood when they were using the bathroom, it wasn't like a gigantic flood or anything. Both of them are very active in sports and swimming.
What you can do to prepare is get some light and medium weight pads, put a couple of each in a package in your school locker along with a pocket size container of handi wipes or something so you'll be ready just in case.
Most likely it will happen in the morning and you'll notice in the bathroom before you even get dressed.
But don't WORRY. Worrying won't help or change anything at all and will only make you feel bad. And some girls get thier first period really early, others later so you could stress about this for a loooong time.

My first period just came on like that without warning. But I do remember feeling crampy but didn't think much of it. It's best to have a pad with you at all times just to be careful. It won't come if you are swimming but strenuous activities like sports (basketball, volleyball) can get it going but usually you will just see spotting at first and no one will be able to notice. Then you use the pad that you keep with you for that first time. Good Luck Honey and for the next 40 years.
also if you are worried you may consider using mini pads in your panties especially during sports activities. Again good luck!

A great indicator that your period is on it's way is having vaginal discharge for a few months. Also, many people think that it usually comes about 2 years after your breasts start to develop. Most girls have both armpit hair and pubic hair before they get it, too. I knew a girl who got her period before she got hair "down there". By the way, I got my first period at school. It was not bad at all. I didn't realize it until the end of the school day but I had pads waiting for me when I got home.

It's really hard to tell when your first one is going to come, and the symptoms that women get vary greatly. I would suggest bringing a couple of pads in your bag to school, that way if you need them you will have them handy. I always kept mine in a little cosmetic bag inside my backpack, that way it wasn't embarrassing if they fell out of my bag.
If you have specific questions you could ask your friends that have had theirs, your mom, a school nurse, or counselor. It's pretty scary in the beginning because you don't know what to expect, but it really isn't that bad.

Cramping, staining, pain, tiredness are some common signs of a pending period. Ask your mom or grandma, maybe a school nurse or a friends mom...older sister. Good luck.

im not sure if there is a way to tell or not.
since you are so worried i would carry around a couple of pads and/or tampons. put them in a small makeup bag or something and keep it in your backpack or purse.
