Cannabis is only so expensive because of prohibition. Make it legal and it would quickly be the lowest earning cash crop. Too many people are making money on this "war" to give up their careers on both sides. The reason it is so popular is that so many people see through the hype and know that it is relatively harmless and actually has some benefits. The only ones that really believe that it is harmful are people that never even tried it.
