Yeah. Universal health care won't change that.
In fact, it will make matters worse since there's no incentive to create medicines, as there's no profit in it.

Kevin Trudeau is the one who's corrupt. Consider: if people did not receive value from the medical care they purchased, they would quit purchasing it and the health care industry would be out of business. This is basic economics. The health care industry is a huge industry because there is a huge need for it and because they have been putting out a very good product for a long time. People continue to get healthier and healthier, live longer and with better quality of life, and the health care industry has done a lot to make that the reality.
Consider: If the 'natural cures' Trudeau claims exist actually had any merit, they would have been tested and proven scientifically, and you would have heard about them a long time ago from somebody with a lot more credibility than Trudeau. Trudeau suggests that there is some vast conspiracy to keep everybody in the dark about these natural "cures." That is impossible--hundreds or thousands of people would have to be involved in this conspiracy. People just cannot keep secrets that well--especially when there would be a fantastic financial incentive to be the first one to publicize the "cures."
Conclusion: Two people will benefit from Trudeau's book--Trudeau and his publisher.

Yah dude that's been going on since they cured polio-they didn't make a tremendous amount of money on the cure--in America(it's so sad)the Health care Industry and Prescription Drug companies are so corrupt because their is no "money" involved in the cure only the stuff that won't cure you but you can still live if you have the medication you need-So if there were a cure no one would need all those drugs to live-cuz they would be cured-So we will probably never have a cure for AIDS or Herpes or the vast many other diseases out there we'll just make a medication that will let you live with it.

well... the answer is ... we don't know...
we don't know of any "cures" that they have ignored, but there is a valid point to what trudeau says...
medical care is extremely expensive... several times more than almost every other country, as far as costs...
and, I don't think it would be bad business at all... I mean... what choice do you have... it's your life... it's not something you can just "do without"...
this is the most basic flaw when people discuss capitalism in health care... it's not a service you can just "pass up"... you can't hold out for health care...
and if there is one drug that helps you... often only one company makes it, and you're at their mercy... whatever they want to charge...

You know, I would not be surprised one bit if that were the case.
A friend of mine has gone to the hospital countless times for an illness she has. Each time they keep her there, they do no work on her, they do nothing to help her except keep her there in bed until she feels better. They must be doing a wonderful job considering how sick she still is. But what can you do?? You're sick and you need to count on someone to make you feel better so you return to the hospital again, hoping that they'll be able to help you.
Another friend of mine a few years ago had a mother who broke her leg while in the front yard. The doctors claimed that they couldn't figure out what was wrong because even being put in a brace (it wasn't even a cast...go figure) her leg was throbbing tremendously. My friend's mother had a job that worked with healthcare so she made a suggestion of what she thought it was. They blew her off and didn't even test her to see if that was what was wrong (sorry, Im terrible at remembering the names of all these things).
One day she woke up and was having trouble breathing and had even stopped breathing a few times. Her husband took her to the hospital. No one was left to watch her which is absolutely ridiculous. Yet again, she stopped breathing while in her hospital bed, no one was around, so she got up on her broken leg, gasping for breath, went outside her room to find a nurse or anyone to help. She couldn't find anyone and she died that day because of the neglect from the hospital.
Sure enough, she could've been saved if they had only listened to her in the beginning. They found what was wrong with her leg and it was exactly she had suggested to them to begin with.
So yea...I would not be surprised at all if it is all about money.

I think that the pharmacutical companies are definately corrupt although I don't think they are deliberately making people sick. It's all about business and making money. Why else would we be bombarded with ads selling us countless drugs that we don't need, while denying access to others who need them because of affordability?
I think the FDA's policies and practises need review. Too many people are now on prescription medication, many of which have not even been tested for long term problems. Also, many of the drugs are being pushed by doctors who don't take the time to properly diagnose.

sure they want to make money, but people who work for the health care industry (and their family members) get cancer, Parkinson's, diabetes and all kinds of horrible diseases too. So they'd want cures for their families, no? Or is a conspiracy too, and they hide the cures for their own people only?
