A burglar broke into a home, through a skylight, above the kitchen. He landed on the island where the elderly lady had a knife and injured himself. I heard this story as if it was a court case that went to trial where the burglar brought suit and won for personal injury. I'm looking for documentation as to it's validity or accuracy. I've checked snopes.com and run web searches to no avail. If you have resourceful information please advise.

I have found this story mentioned in several places online, but no verification.

I did, however, find a story in the UK about changing a law so that convicted burglars cannot sue over injuries sustained during a burglary:

wow that's crazy but seeing how the law is being interpreted today by politically correct liberal judges I have no doubt it's true. I will also do some research and let you know if I find out anything. Do you know what state this happened in?

I've only heard these kinds of stories in TV shows, so I think it might be an urban legend. Keep trying, though.
