There are programs such as NetNanny that will do this to some degree, but remember that any blocking program can be bypassed by a knowledgeable user. If you are concerned about your children's Internet activity, it will be more effective to do something like not giving them any Internet access unless you're in the room with them. Or just talk to them about what they may and may not do; that may work with some kids.

Communication will work better than technology here.

Children can and do figure out how to get passed parental control features. No matter how smart the child is, any child can find themselves in a sticky situation with a pedophile when it comes to the internet. Let's face it, the internet is a pedophile's playground, and they do have a good time. Children are also likely to become addicted to the computer and may not socialize as much in real life. It is far more important for a child to be playing outdoors with other children. Using a laptop outside is not a good subsititute either!

There are many programs that are supposed to do that, netnanny comes to mind. Your best guard is to always be in the room with them as software can be beaten plus, you can do a web search on something that sounds innocent but the results are anything but. Try doing a search for toys and see what you get.

It's pretty good and accurate.
