Hey Becky,

A large portion of the world is illiterate. The speaking images of the problem were blast into peoples living rooms like never before. Anything that happened, could be put on the news that day - to be seen by all. This made an impact on people that were young, and could not read, or did not care about the news otherwise.

Smart people will not put up with mans inhumanity if they know about it.

It allowed, for the first time, people all over the nation to see the violence, unfairness, hatred, and oppression of the black people, by the white majority, and most especially, T.V. allowed Americans everywhere to see the "Good ol Boy" government of the southern states, in action. The peace-full, non violent demonstrations led by such great and far sighted men of God, like Dr, King and his peers gave us all, (white America) a chance to reflect on our own morals, and justify our own actions as Americans and Christians, and changed forever the fabric of the South..
