i want to fit the document to the screen, I call up a document and it does not all appear on the acreen?

Two things come to mind:

With the document open, cl the "maximize" button (the square between the hyphen and X at the top-right of the screen)
or
cl the down-arrow of the "zoom" button: it is on the standard toolbar (with the printer icon, disk icon...) it is to the left of the question mark for help - select 'page width'
