I'm 12 weeks pregs. and love to sleep om my tummy. Have been told by many not to do that because it could hurt the baby. Is there anything I can do to kick this habit now before I get to big? Thanks for all the help.

Yeah, they also say you shouldn't sleep on your back, since it will cut off oxygen flow to the fetus. Whatever....you will find that it is very hard to sleep later in your pregnancy. Mainly since you won't be able to get comfortable. Just sleep in whatever position you can. I am 18 weeks along and still sleeping on my belly (just a little more tilted to my side) pretty soon I will have to sleep completely on my side. They make pillows contoured to fit a growing belly. If you can afford it, maybe it would be worth a try.
Don't listen to what everyone else says. During my first pregnancy everyone told me horror stories and when it was my turn to deliver, it was nothing like they all said it would be. Why is it that people try to scare you? I don't know...I guess they enjoy torturing us. You will be fine!!

Sleep on your tummy till you just cant anymore! It WONT hurt you baby at all. The baby is protected by layers and layers!

I am a tummy sleeper too, and at 36 weeks pregnant the best I can do these days is kinda tummy/side sleeping these days. I put a pillow under my knee and draw my knee up to my chest and sort of side sleep (not unlike the recovery position they teach you to put an unconcious person in during first aid class)

Sleeping on you tummy wont hurt your baby. Enjoy it while you can because soon you belly will get too big for you to sleep comfortably this way...and after baby comes you wont get much sleep at all for a while!

I cant wait to sleep flat out on my belly again!

Im a tummy sleeper too. I still slept on my tummy the first few months of my pregnancy but eventually it became way to uncomfotable and almost impossible. It will for you too so I would say just enjoy it while you still can, the baby is protected by many many layers so I doubt youre going to squish him. It sucks for me cause I STILL cant sleep on my tummy cause of my c-section incision.... someday I will again.

I slept on my belly (well almost, more like belly-side) through my entire pregnancy and just recently had a healthy baby. Make sure you are comfortable and nothing is hurting. As you grow, you will adjust your sleeping position without even knowing it. I used one pillow between my legs and one more to hug. This way you don't have to spend extra money on those special pillows

It's fine to do so until it's not comfortable for you anymore. It wont' hurt the baby. I am a stomach sleeper too. I hated it when I had to give it up. And it was what I looked forward to the most AFTER birth!

You're fine. You'll get lots of friendly "advice" and most of it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Buy one of those side lying pillows. Also, I love sleeping on my stomach....it will become uncomfortable to sleep on your stomach when the baby is getting too big! It just happens, so not too much to worry about!
