a girl i work with in ultrasound said she has been able to tell a few times at 10 weeks...but that was an emergancy situation and she found the sex during the route exam. She said that she is dead on from about 16 weeks on. but of course later is better as far as development. the best time to tell is about 20 weeks on. at 28 weeks you an see some really cool stuff.

By 18 weeks they can nearly always tell with an ultrsound, unless baby is not cooperating.

They can tell earlier with CVS testing or amniocentesis, but these are invasive tests that carry some risk and would not be done just to determine sex. They only do them if doctors suspect something is wrong or if the pregnancy is high risk.

You have to be 5 months along to be able to see it on an ultrasound, there is also an amneocentesis test that they can do, but that involves a needle being poked through the mothers stomach into the bag of water and taking a sample of the amniotic fluid, but there is a risk of miscarriage with that one.

You need to be between 15 weeks and 24 weeks--also depends on the position of the baby and if the baby will let you see via ultrasound

It depends on the experience of the sonographer. The sex can be determined at 16 weeks, but normally you won't know for sure until 18-20.
