my moms ex husband used to get like that alot, especially after getting off the phone with people in particular or he was playing a game and lost. Then he would either throw the phone at my sister, the cats, or me. Or he would start yelling until I was sure his head was going to explode. Im surprised none of the neighbors called the police. He had a temper on him. He would start throwing other things as well, we would all go into our bedrooms when we saw that vein start popping. Scariest thing ever.
