For dry powder brushes (blush, face) use water and a light soap like spectrogel (face wash) make sure you rinse and dry properly if the brushes are taking too long to dry use a blow dryer on low heat. If you have the wet blush sponges or eyeshadow sponge run under warm water and gently rub out the makeup.

Yeah, I agree with RJ. MAC Brush Cleanser is awesome! It's safe for brushes and really cleans them. Swirl the brushes in the solution and rub them on the side of the cup to make sure you cleaned out all the makeup.

Breck makes a very gentle baby shampoo that you can use. Since it's gentle enough for babies, it should be safe for your bristles. Wet the brush with luke-warm water. Put some shampoo in your palm, and gently swirl the brush in the shampoo. Try not to rub too vigorously, as that will affect the bristles' placement within the brush. Good luck!

I use baby shampoo. I put the size of a nickle in a container, put warm water in it, mix it so there are plenty of bubbles, then put your brushes in the warm water for a minute or 2. Swirl the brush in the palm of your hand to get it nice and sudsy then rinse very well. Put them on a counter with the bristles off the edge so they can air dry. Mine usually dry over night.

baby shampoo is the best stuff. ive tryed the brush cleaners and i didnt think it was cleaning my brushes properly. wash them in warm water apply a little bit of baby shampoo and rinse them till the water runs clean, wip your brushes on a clean peace of kitchen roll and leave them to air dry. ALWAYS leave your brushes lying down woulds when drying, if you leave them to dry standing up the water will run in to your brushes and it will mess your brushes up

The safest thing to do is buy a professional cleaner like this one:

but and easy at home treatment is to take some gentle hand soap, or some shampoo and squeeze it onto your hand. Then wet your brush and swipe it back and forth then in circles in the palm of your hand that has soap on it. Then rise well and let sit out to dry. I hope this helps!

I used to sell Body Shop products and they have very nice brushes (kind of expensive) and we recommended cleaning them with our shower creams or gels.

I usually use a mild shampoo and clean them in warm water. Rinse really well and shake them out. Make sure the bristles are going all the same way and there you have it.
