Teaching English as a Second Language is the best way to learn new languages and talents. Contracts are usuaully 6 months to a year. You can always find someone willing to do a language exchange. (You teach them English, they teach you...) You can travel to many countries easily. You can make amazing friends from all over the world. It's a great job even when the pay doesn't translate to much dollar-wise. I work in China. By American standards I earn a poverty wage, but here it's a decent wage and I can travel just about anywhere with what I make here. I could barely afford to travel out of my state when I lived in the US. ESL is the way to go. Just do your research before you sign on with a company and try to avoid recruiters. It's better to talk to the school yourself. Research expat sites for the city you're thinking of going to in order to find out if there are "issues" with a prospective school.
