Is a decrease in appetite a sign of early pregnancy? I took a test, but it was negative (probably too early to tell). I am late for my period, so I'm very confused.

Also, how long after missed period should I re-test?

Thanks!

I actually have a decrease in appetite (I am around 7 weeks pregnant) and I have to make myself eat sometimes. I dont think that its very common, but it happends. I make sure I take my prenatals and I am going to ask my OB about it when I go in for my first appointment (which is on Jan 2nd =D).

About re-testing...I took a test the second or third day of my missed period, and still the positive line was barely there, but there all the same. I took a test 2 days after that to get a darker positive line so I could take a picture of it, and that is when I called my OB to make a pre-natal appointment. If you get a positive, make sure that you dont wait very long to make you pre-natal appointment...Good pre-natal care is a must for a healthy pregnancy.
Good luck! And congrats if you are pregnant!

If your period is at least 3 days late, then a pregnancy would likely show up on the test.

Use first morning urine and buy an hpt that says "early". First Response brand is one of the most sensitive early tests on the market. Follow the instructions exactly.

It doesn't sound likely that you are pregnant, since the other test was negative.

A decrease in appetite is a very common sign. I always started morning sickness BEFORE I could even take the pregnancy test!

I am about 5 weeks preggo, I defiantly had a decrease in appetite. Though, it is not a sign that you are pregnant. You could be stressed, or had some major weight changes? You should wait a few days and take another test, good luck.

You should have a result within 2 weeks after missing your period--If you are still having a negative and still have not started your period then you need to go to the Doctor and get some test done--to see if you are ovulating

I had increase in appetite with certain things but not really craving like. Go to the doctor and get a blood test done. They can tell you more accurately. People vary though on symptoms. Some have no symptoms, and others have every symptom in the book.

an increase in appetit is usually a small sign, and the rule of thumb is wait at least 3 days before retesting.

it could just be stress and with some tests you can retest after 2-3 days, stress can cause your body to do strange things, make you eat more or less, make your period late, cause you to sleep too much or too little etc...so give a few more days and see what happens!!

something is obviously incorrect with your abdomen, you need to pass see a doctor. Cigarette would reason a shrink in appetit however the full vomiting subject could scare me if i substitute into you. end smoking and pass see a doctor.
