I guess you know that there're all kind of different dances. Each one
for the most part, can be very slow, slow, moderate and let said faster.
for example waltz: English waltz is "slow" or can be very slow (kind of boring) On the other hand there is Viennese waltz that it is much faster.
Similar things happen with Foxt trot or Rumba. If I were you I would ask for a romantic rumba, some DJ's know what that is about.

I had homecoming a couple of months ago(im a senior and head of the homecoming committee) and i requested that the dj played OMARION"SLOW DANCING" and i would lie to you not, almost everyone got up and danced when this song came on. Even the homecoming king and queen had their first dance to this song
