I used to live near Huntsville, Alabama and had friends I would visit on odd weekends in Gadsden. I had to travel a dusty 2 lane road almost all the way there and it was quite lonesome at times.... an occasional stop light thru a trailer park or a intersection from no where. One hot, dusty Saturday morning, at one of these intersections with a particularly long light (Owens Crossroads, AL.), a nice looking Ford pick-up came up from behind me into the turn lane. Well I was bored and this pick-up was a beaut. It was air-brushed with all sorts of western scenery and I leaned over my seat to eyeball all of that side. Then I heard a giggle and realized I eyeballed too long and hard. I looked up thru my passenger window and there was Hank Williams, Jr. himself, just grinning from his window and I noticed the light was green over his head. But no one was anywhere for a hundred miles and he asked me if I wanted to see the rest so I turned off the car and got out with him and finished looking. I asked him about some of the details because obviously they were about his travels and I recognized his father and mother's faces on his driver's side door. Then it happened, the Owens Crossing police came around the other side and slid up to us in the middle of the road. He came over and asked us if we were in any trouble? Old Hank said "No sir, we just were enjoying the time of day." The cop laughed and we all got into our cars and I proceeded to Gadsden, Hank to one of his nearby pastures (he had hay in his truck for feed) and the cop towards the Crossroads station for his lunch. You know what? I had a camera in the car, pencil and paper and never got an autograph or photo to prove to my friends why I was late. No one believed me, but that giggle and laughing eyes I remember to this day.

I met Andrew Eldritch, singer and founder of The Sisters of Mercy and his guitarist, Chris May, when he was boarding his tourbus on the second date of the Sisters Bite The Silver Bullet Tour 2006 in San Diego, California. They were very kind to have given autographs on a few pieces I brought along. I have met many local politicians and celebrities in San Diego since I worked as a photographer for a local newspaper - too many to mention. This one I mentioned since I am a big fan of The Sisters of Mercy ever since I learned of them in high school.

I met Elvis when I was 8 in Ft Knox KY. My Dad was Head Army
Recruiter and as a joke they asked Elvis' Company Commander to have Elvis come to Ft Knox for a reenlistment talk and he likes
a good joke so he came up one Saturday in March 1960 and when I shook his hand he said, "Do you really know who I am, kid?" So I started singing "Hound Dog" and he laughed and rustled my hair and said, "Yeah, kid, I guess you do."
I have also met Jeannie C. Riley (Harper Valley PTA), Susan Dey,
Loretta Lynn, Jose Feliciano (in train station in Stuttgart Germany), Jim Thome, Bill Cosby & my cousin Jerry Brightman
who played steel guitar with Buck Owens & the Buckeroos.

Met Mariah Carey, she was very quiet, looked tired and a LOT smaller in person. The tatas also looked smaller in person than they do on film. Met Al Green at a funeral, has nice teeth but I'm not sure if they are his. Met several professional Athletes and they were all just cool people...just tall!!

My fiance worked at a car wash in high school and he use to bring his car there. Once he made it, he would bring his lime. My fiance said that there were always burger wrappers and old take out cups in the back of it!
