Solids are best with tartans. Is there a secondary color with the purple you could try to match? How formal is the occasion? For a formal look, you could wear a lace jabot at the neck; for casual-sexy, a ghillie shirt. A formal Prince Charlie jacket is always acceptable. Do you have a sporran? Ghillie brogues? It depends on the shade of purple, but a white or black or even grey shirt would look best, but only a solid color and pattern, because otherwise it would clash horribly. It also depends on your shoes and the length of the kilt

Go with a solid so you won't clash.

Probably a white/natural shirt.

Depending - you could do the "formal" shirt & jacket on top.

a striped pink + purple polo with a little jacket that matches yur kilt. or if that doesn't work, try a dress.
