that is a tuffy, but I would threaten to spank him if he didn't listen to you..I know that sounds mean, but if it makes him LISTEN it is worth it. and be stern about it also...don't be so 'understanding' in this case, he might lose an eye...now don't think i am too mean, but you have to also remember something else...You DID poke him in the eye, and you might have to take him to the doctors and sedate him but the only thing I can really say will work, is a threat to give him a spanking.

Hi- sometimes you can put the drops in while the eyes are closed and the medication can leak in from the side ( you can ask your doctor first). I make my daughter look at a piece of candy and I put the drops in on the opposite side (away from the iris or colored part of the eye)- I then give her the candy as a treat. Lastly, sometimes I have to wait until she is relaxed and happy in my arms (usually when she is rested, in my arms) she will let me give her her medicine. Good Luck!

The same thing happened to my little sister. She had a serious infection in both eyes and she needed to have a gel medication put in her eyes every morning and night...and it was very sticky and made her see blurry for an hour..so it was very scary for her. I would help my mom..I would hold her arms from behind and she would try to hold her legs with her knees..and then she could open her eyes and insert the medication...it was kind of harsh and it hurts you to see someone so scared but it's neccesary...Good luck!

If the other parent is available have them hold the child down while you put in the eye drops.
something else to try if you are alone, sit on his feet and hold his hands down with one hand , with the other hand give him the eye drops. You are stronger than he is and bigger.
I had to do this with my son when he was younger.
If he is old enough to understand, tell him that he can have his favorite toy, food, or something else that he likes, if he cooperates, if not resort to above method.

Try using a mummy wrap, I have a twelve year old multi handicap child and do this at the dentist office. Take a blanket large enough to wrap around him being sure to tuck his arms and legs and wrap tightly. This will prevent him from kicking, punching and basically moving. This has also been practiced in hospitals. If you need to ask your pediatrician to show you this technique

Is it through fact he dosen't such as you putting them in his eyes or through fact they burn? attempt putting them interior the corners of his eyes close to the nostril. positioned a drop there then have him open his eyes. they ought to pass in whilst he opens them.
