The next character should be Green Lantern. They should pay homage to the creator of the original Green Lantern, Martin Nodell, who just passed, and they should stay true to the history of the character.
They should NOT allow Tim Burton or Joel Schumacher anywhere near this film. Burton will make it too dark, and/or give it some sort of nonsensical sub-plot just to tell a story. Schumacher will just camp it up to the Nth degree and ruin the franchise.
And with all due repsect to Tim S, the previous answerer, a JLA movie is great idea, I'm all for it, but Time Warner will never do it.
They will never have a film like "World's Finest" or "Justice League" or even Justice Society". They feel they can make more money by keeping all of the heroes in their own little films.

I think DC could get some good movies out of the Vertigo line... get Sandman and Death out there.
