others. I believe in spirits and there are lots of people who do. I have had lots of accounts on Yahoo of people and their stories. If someone can tell me logically why they believe they dont exist then I will be happy to hear your oppinion. But dont bore me with talk of demons becuase if demons exist by logic spirits do as well. So here is the challenge. Convince me.

Try this one then.

Infra-red rays exist, we can't see them with the naked eye but we have equipment that transmits them and we can see them too.

Just because you can't see them normally doesn't mean they don't exist, we know they do.

Now, what if ghosts for example are composed of something that we can't always see with the naked eye and no current equipment invented can pick them up. Who is to say or prove then that they absolutely do not exist?

However, saying all that i don't belive in anything and think the whole thing is a complete load of bull and no more belive in any of this than i do santa claus will bring me two stunning 21yr old swedish blonde girls this christmas.

And i ask for them every bl**dy year as well. !!!

I'm not going to claim they don't exist because it's practically impossible to prove the non-existence of something. This of course doesn't mean that they DO exist. I can't disprove the existence of purple five-headed flying goats from the planet Mars either, but that doesn't mean there's much chance that they really exist.

Before I actually believe something exists I'd need to see some kind of scientific evidence. But over many thousands of years of human life on this planet there doesn't seem to have been any hard scientific evidence of the existence of spirits whatsoever. Peoples' accounts of things they may or may not have seen are fallible and don't count. So basically I can't believe in their existence any more than I can believe the existence of the purple five-headed goat, but that's just me. Everyone's free to believe what they want.

Drunk people see pink elephants sometimes. If I said it happened to me when I was sloshed would you ask me to prove they existed or just take it on faith. If you have any knowledge of human fallibility you'll understand why sane well balanced intelligent people dont believe in ghosts and goblins and spirits.

Convince you... Dont you know you cant disprove things like that? I've hallucinated before at a site where others had seen ghosts - but I knew that as a security guard the long hours were effecting my mind. I saw a modern security guard and not a medieval apparition so it was easy to discern what had happened to me.

If you want to believe in spirits then go ahead. Its a free country.

Don't you love it when people won't accept e-mail so you can talk to them about their answers? They believe in God, which they haven't seen & angels which they might claim to, but anything that they weren't told was OK is not acceptable. I have seen & heard spirits all of my life. Only one was evil. You can "feel" the difference. I do believe that good & evil exists in the world. I've seen what people have done to each other & to animals. I have also seen people do a lot of good for the world without expecting anything in return. How can you discount anything you have not personally experienced? Open your minds & souls people. It's not the devil & this sure is not the garden of Eden!

I agree with you apart from the bit about if demons exist then spirits do to - I don't believe in spirits - I KNOW they exist - but as for demons - I don't have any reason to believe in them at all.
I have seen/heard/experienced too much to be able to deny the fact that spirits exist - & if it's not spirits I have encountered, then it's a weird mix of psionics, echoic residue, telepathy, etc etc.
Either that or I am just plain crazy lol

Reasonable doubt is for courtrooms. I think Glenn must be a lawyer (or just plays one on TV). Anyway, I don't see what the point is of trying to convince anyone of anything else unless they are causing themselves physical harm. It doesn't affect me if someone has the same beliefs as me or not.

It's all a matter of opinion really, if you have reason to believe then why not! You can't see air, it exists! You can't see gravity, that exists! You can't see ghosts, do they exist?

I would never shout someone down for believeing something, I don't believe in God, Allah or ghosts but people have a right to do so.

Seeing something is in basic terms an fairly small area of proving something exists. i will freeze air at very low temperatures and then i will see it. i will seem at bacteria or viruses below helpful microscopes and notice them. i could have my ideas x-rayed, i will undergo an operation noted as trepanning wherein a small ingredient of cranium is bumped off and that i ought to then see my ideas in a replicate. apart from, i will examine the content fabric of air, degree the outcomes of bacteria and viruses (there are no longer this style of issues as "germs") and degree my own brainwaves. there are a number of different issues which will no longer be able to be considered, yet all may be measured, weighed, analysed, dissected or quantified in some way. in case you have faith god exists, consistent with possibility you ought to describe how i might pass approximately quantifying and measuring, analysing or dissecting god.

They do not exist because I have never seen one! I can only base my opinions on what I see, I hear, I feel. No-one but no-one has proven beyond reasonable doubt that ghosts/spirits exist.

They are merely figments of the imagination in my experience.

"There are lots of thing we cannot see", true - but nothing that cannot be proven, recorded, or otherwise verified. There is NO Scientific proof of the spirit phenomena, it cannot be proven, recorded or repeated. My personal opinion is that `visions`. are created by the brain, exist only within the brain, and can never be proven. This is why "I believe" is the common expression, and "here`s the PROOF" never gets spoken.
