Well, everyone under the age of 30, it seems.

Survey kids at any high school in America--ask them what they'd like to be in life, and I'm sure a great majority will say "famous"
Fame that's been EARNED due to talent, whether it be musical, theatrical, political, etc., is fine, perhaps even commendable. However, in today's superficial society, fame for its own sake--not for any reason at all--is the desired outcome for many youngsters. Paris Hilton is a prime example of being famous for no ******* reason--she's no actress, yet she's on tv shows... she cannot sing, yet she has made millions as a 'singer'... she is ugly, yet she is held by millions as an icon of beauty and fashion.
How did this come to be? Is it the fault of reality tv, where people who don't actually do anything become celebrities simply for being seen on the television? Or are kids and young adults these days simply THAT superficial and devoid of talent and personality?
I truly despise this pathetic generation.

Fame is where the money's at?
For a select few out of a population of millions of people, it is. But you and I are real people--where not going to be 'rich and famous'. Neither are all these delusional brats who hope to be "famous" for the sake of it. Why not focus on things in life that matter, things of substance?

I don't think "most" kids these days want to be famous, they want to be rich. Unfortunately being famous has become the leading indicator of one's (perceived) wealth. Those who want fame obviously lack attention and fantasize about having the ultimate amount of it via fame. As for Paris Hilton (and others like her...) SHE didn't set out to become famous. The paparazzi made her famous. They started out photographing her only a little while she lived out her life doing what other people her age do or WISH they could do: party! Then when those hordes of tabloid-reading morons showed a growing interest in her antics and her (LOL) fashion sense, the stalkarazzi upped the stalking and photographed her even more and more AND MORE!! How was it, ANY of it, her doing? Lastly, Like it or not Paris Hilton IS a fashion icon simply because she wears all the upcoming fashion trends - she can offord it so why not? Again, not her doing. I do agree, she's not that pretty though.

I would not mind having the money without being famous. I would try to be in the background if posiible. Like a director or extra or whatever. The money is good but u have no privacy.

I think they attract money with being famous. There are people out here that are rich but not famous.
