8.5" diameter. Of course, you can vary the height and diameter (lower sides, wider diameter) and still be a half-peck, but I think these are considered "standard".

a peck is roughly 5 inches by 10 inches by 11 inches.
or 537 cubic inches, or .311 cubic feet
or 2 gallons, or 8 quarts
so a half peck is 1 gallon, or 4 quarts, or 269 inches, or roughly
5" X 5 " X 11"
