Everyone says that Abercrombie is:
- over-priced
- preppy
- and bad quality
Is any of this true. Please explain, don't just put yes/no.
I'm not going to put my opinions. I want to see what YOU think.

i used to work for them for about 6 years.

and, even though they say its "high quality", its not.
it is way overpriced, even the companr reps used to joke about how it probably cost less than a dollar to make a shirt that they sell for 49.50.
the clothing isnt necessarily preppy, but it is a classic, clean look. skanky girls wear it too, and i have seen some guys mix an abercrombie shirt with baggy jeans (yuck for both).

i think you should look at it this way. EVERYONE wears it. so its played out. and everyone only wears it because it is "expensive" so if you have it it must mean that you have money. and only good looking people work there, so if you wear it, does that mean you are trying to show that you are too?
i think anything sold in a random mall is not the best quality. unless you go to a mall like the South Park Mall in Charlotte NC or something like that.
try being original and getting fashion forward stuff... like on shopbop.com
that way you look amazing and NO one will have it.

plus they re-do the same stuff over and over again. i have sweaters from years ago that are exactly the same as the new ones. and now people are starting to make counterfeit abercombie so god only knows what is real anymore. sick!

In my experience, I don't think that their quality is bad at all. When I used to shop there, I'd have some of their shirts that would last me a few years before they came apart. I don't know about their pants, because I never did buy them. And yes, I agree that they are preppy. But then again, there's always Hot Topic for people that are into the goth or punk thing. Finally, I do have to agree looking back that they are overpriced. Now that I'm not spending money so wrecklessly (sp?) anymore, the thought of spending $40 on a plain polo shirt nearly kills me! In case you're wondering why I quit shopping at Abercrombie: I am so sick and tired of the A&F logo on everything in the store! I'm almost 24...guess I grew up? And even their clothing without any logos is overpriced to me. I'm not paying $24 for a plain solid color t-shirt that I can find cheaper elsewhere, you know?

They do have high quality clothing, I even have some clothing from Abercrombie that i've got had for years. i don't have self assurance they are properly well worth the cost nonetheless; you may get the comparable high quality for an extremely low value, and a great style of situations, the comparable style, in different shops. Hollister has a tendency to have decrease expenses- some issues relatively are very decrease priced.

Anyone that will pay $70 or so for a shirt that looks like it's been through the wringer and then some and $150 or so for a pair of jeans that look like they once WERE bad quality is crazy. So yes, it's overpriced and bad quality cause it's made to fade, and made to get worn out, cause it's "cool". If you want REAL vintage clothes, go to the thrift stores...OOPS..people that shop at Abercrombie are too good for those stores cause they're preps. That's what I think.

It's not bad quality. It's just too pricey. They buy those shirts for like a dollar and sell it for like $100. you can find the same stuff with same material and even better material for better prices. yes, that store is preppy, but you can find better at others. that's why i dont shop there. why would any one waste so much money from there for a couple of shirts. for jackets and pants are okay, but the shirts aren't worth it. even hollister adn aeropastle are lower price.

I think it's preppy, but I've never been inside a store to see if it's over priced. And the quality is average, they make plain tshirts then print boring stuff on them.

I don't know if it's bad quality (I don't own anything from that store and I never will unless it's a gift. I actually have never stepped foot there).

Overpriced... yeah! I went on their website and OMG 80 dollar shirts (ugly), 150 dollar jeans (more ugly).

Preppy. Duh.

And wayyy too unoriginal for me!

Yes.

- It IS most definitely overpriced.
- You just look like a complete and total TOOL in A&F.
- It's just your standard lame mall clothing sewn and systematically pre-ripped and soiled by indentured Malaysians.

Yes. Abercrombie and Fitch is a rip off. Its not about the clothing, its about social status. What is wrong with Wal-mart!?
