I need to find the site but the music was created during the persecution of the Catholics in England during Henry the VIII's reign. It was code and the colors each meant something, if I remember right the greensleeves had something to do Mary because that women who wore greensleeves were considered great ladies.

The song Greensleeves is also the music behind the song "What child is this"

Kinda creepy, this song is currently playing on my computer as I read this question.

There are alternate lyrics to the tune...so "Greensleeves" becomes "What Child is This?" which is about Jesus' birth.
