for my fiances birthday, i picked out a poem that symbolizes how i feel about him, bought a mirrored picture frame, typed and printed the poem on a really pretty silver tectured cardstock, trimmed it to fit in the picture slot in the frame, and put a satin ribbon sticker that said together forever on the frame. you can get all the materials at your local craft store, for mine it was under $20, and it looks very nice. he still swears i paid someone to make it for me.

Choosing a Christmas Gift for your boyfriend is a very enjoyable activity after all. An appropriate Christmas gift makes an emphatic statement on how much you know and value him in your life. Bee innovative and come up with original ideas. You may buy 25 Christmas cards or choose and 25 Christmas e-cards and send it to them on each day of December until Christmas along with a small gift. Some of these cards can be serious; some funny while others can be emotional or romantic. Choose the gift you are sending with the card to suit its mood. Keep the brightest and most beautiful of them to be presented on Christmas along with some extra special Christmas gift to accompany it. Prepare a Christmas Gift for your boyfriend at home by buying him a day-by-day table calendar.
On each day, write a short love message or quote or the reason why you love him. A variation of this can be to note down some of the funniest, naughtiest, silliest moments you have spent together on each day. Some other Christmas gift ideas for your boyfriend may include a gift certificate for a Jacuzzi bubble bath filled with red rose petals together and a complete candle lit dinner. A can of strawberries and a bottle of champagne can also make the Christmas evening perfect for you and your boyfriends. An ice bucket filled with the rose petals and a bottle of wine, a weekend getaway can do the trick too. Inspire your boyfriend to propose marriage by gifting him a comfy cuddle blanket this year, knitted with the softest yarn. You can make one for him yourself.

For my boyfriend's birthday last year, I made him a picture frame and put a picture of me and him in it. I bought a plain wood frame from Michael's, scrapbook paper, stickers, etc. You can make it just like you would make a scrapbook page, but decorate the frame instead! There are a lot of other great ideas too. They don't take but maybe a couple hours or so from start to finish, some faster than others if your fast. I took my time though...Good luck!

If you want something meaningful that you need to look at his interests. What makes a gift meaningful is you taking the time to look into his interests and find something that he himself would not think of getting for himself and/or does not know exists that is realated to one of his interests.
You don't have to buy items on ebay but it is a great place to look for items and ideas related to a special interest of someone.
What will make the gift meaningful is when you see him look stunned and say, "Where did you find this" or "I didn't even know they had these"... that will show that you spent the time to research his interests and find something special.
A lot of the things you find on ebay can be bought in local stores but ebay allows you to find something that you did not know exists and once you know what you are looking for then you can go find it in a local store.
Interests can be anything, think hard, look around his room : Sports, Music, Bands, Books, Robotics, reading, clothes, designers, space, animals, sexual items, knives, you...

Take him out to someplace special. Maybe a restaurant or club or something that you know he will like.
If you are thinking about a gift as an item then maybe a Leather Jacket? I got a leather jacket for Christmas from my girlfriend when I was 17. Don't know if this would be his kind of thing and if you would want to part with that much money though.

Do you have some talent you can use to make something? For example:
Can you knit? Make a scarf
Can you sew? Make something nice to wear
Artist? Make a painting and frame it
Writer? Write a poem or story for him and put in a nice frame or book
Have some good pics of you 2 together. Put a nice one in a frame or make a photo collage.
If your relationship is at a "mature" level, you could have some sexy pics of yourself taken for him. Just be careful about that one... if the relationship doesn't last and he ends up PO'd at you, that's not something you want floating around.

you're able to ruin up because of the fact he's shifting away? long distance relationships surely can advance the bond of the relationship. And as for a going away present make a scrapbook for him. Take photos, memories, places you have been, action picture tickets, etc. And in simple terms make slightly scrapbook of memories which you 2 have created together. And on the final website write slightly heartfelt be conscious him.

Depending on how close you are, and far into your relationship is will help determin the gift.
You can get a book of short poems, or quotes, and in pen, add comments, or your thoughts. Most anything that you get for him, if your personalize it in some way, and add a bit of yourself to it, he will see the meaning in it. Maybe a dvd of the first movie you saw with a note that you can watch it later no matter how horrible it was.........personalize it.

Ok, time to burst your bubble. Guys aren't in to "meaningful." We really can't remember what you were wearing this morning when we left the house (and my wife has a total of 3 nightgowns), let alone what we got for Christmas 20 years ago when we were just "dating."
If he's into sports, get him something MEANINGFUL - like a football autographed by his favorite QB, or a baseball signed by mickey mantel. THAT's MEANINGFUL to a guy!
If he's into cars, get him something he's been eyeing for months - like overhead cams and chrome plated intakes! Yeah - THAT he'll remember!
If you get him some little keepsake that is supposed to remind him of you, all you'll do is be disappointed when he finds out it makes a great tool for removing ear-wax or opening beer bottles!

It's a little late to do much now, but in the future, consider making something. Bake some cookies, or if you are crafty, put together a photo album, make him a hat or a blanket. something personal. Or if he has a childhood memory he is fond of, get him something regarding that.

Get something that brings back memories or inside jokes because wants come and go but memories last. For my brother I got him wooden spoons, a locker and antibacterial hand soap. Walmart has some gift packages. Also this site has some really good ideas: http://www.gifts.com/
