mark twain was completely ambulatory. he was also extremely funny, as long as he was trying to be. and even his more dour works are incredibly funny. the mysterious stranger, captain stormfield's visit to heaven, a connecticut yankee in king arthur's court are all pretty sobering, but nevertheless still full of brilliant humor.

if you want to know what's lame, you might want to consider whether it's your brain. if you have a problem finding the value in the writing of the first great american author, and the progenitor of the modern stand-up comedian, the problem is probably within you, not twain or his work.

A person must be able to appreciate sarcasm to enjoy the works of Mark Twain. Obviously, you don't have a good enough sense of humor to appreciate sarcasm.

Lame compared to who? Mark Twain wrote about adventures that during his time where exciting. There was no TV or cars. He wrote about life during hard times. His work isn't meant to be compared to today's world. He wrote during simple times.
To fully appreciate his work, you have to understand the time he wrote about.
