anyone see this movie that just came out? i heard it was at the top in the box office.. i saw it last night, i felt it was entirely too long and the plot was very simple yet the pace of the movie was entirely too slow.. any opinions?

I thought it was good. Even though you already know where its headed and how its going to end. I do agree that it was a tad bit long.

I really liked it.
Beyond just the main message of the movie, which was inspiring, I thought it had an Oscar caliber performance by Will Smith and his son Jaden is a real prodigy.
But my favorite thing about the movie is how it nailed the experience of Fatherhood. Chris Gardner, as portrayed in the film, was an excellent father. But that didn't mean he was perfect. He snapped at his son, got distracted, had other things on his mind, etc. But the love was always there. And the determination to give his boy the best life possible.
I'd see it again. Probably will. Outstanding film.

I basically agree with what you're saying. I was expecting a bigger emotional payoff at the end of the film. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the film a great deal, as I'm homeless right now myself, yet still working a job.
I give it a Thumb's Up!

I thought it was a great movie, my buns did get a little numb from the length, but it was definitely woth going to the theater to see!

It was long, but I thought it was pretty inspirational and touching.
