Any odd number can be written, in general form, as 2n + 1, where n = 0, 1, 2, 3, .....
If n = 0, 2(0)+1 = 1
n = 1, 2(1)+1 = 3
.
.
n = 5, 2(5)+1 = 11.

As others have written, the odd numbers are: 1,3,5,7,9,...
Not all odd numbers are prime, ex. 9, 15, 21, etc.

any number that doesn't dividly evenly by 2.
the formular for an odd number is
(2n+1) n being any number. This works because any number multiplied by two is divisible by two, and is thus an even number. Then, if you add one to any even number, the result is an odd number.
Eg. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17
Note: All prime numbers are odd numbers
