ANY person that age can alway use cash. Failing that, gift certificates and gift cards would be appreciated. Especially with a boy, you won't have to worry about the gift not being "personal" enough.
Something like that is EXACTLY what they would want.
Either that, or get him a 16 year old girl. But I'm not sure your best friend would appreciate the gesture.

Obviously none of you have 15 year old boys at home.
I would definitely say electronics... say an MP3 player, video games, cell phone, etc. Or if all else fails, cash is always a safe way to go.
Definitely no books, and definitely no clothes because parents can never quite pick the right outfit.

i think that u should get him a cd or just get him a gift card. Teens these days like myself like to just spend money so i would get him a gift card to spend.
