Because these questions are the most fun to answer. Sometimes you really have to think about it and sometimes you can just be weird and answer whatever comes to your imagination.

I enjoy this section of Y! answers because it covers the gamut
from science to relationships to true basic understanding of life. And the answers (sometimes questions) are often funny as hell.
Not seeking any answers when I begin, but sometimes after I read the questions, I end up looking for answers. It can get you thinking.

I'm always on the lookout for interesting and/or funny
questions. Some ?'s i find easy and amusing, others
put up quite a challenge, and some are just too tough
to take down (eg. ?'s about Kant).
As to why the philosophy section in particular ...
that's easy too: philosophy is supreme! :D
no, I'm serious. just think about it. i mean really; both
science and history ultimately resolve themselves into
philosophy ... even art. so why study anything else, eh?

The philosophy section? Because it's one of the places where the intelligent Q&As outnumber the trivial and hateful ones. And sometimes you encounter new ideas.

Not seeking answers, oh grasshopper. But instead I just let my mind and mouse clicking finger merge and meld as one. I let them travel where they will, discover what they want. They return home as they choose to regail me with tales of what they have discovered and what wisdom they have imparted to those seeking the light of eternal truth.

I want to read what the twenty first century intellects are thinking about and if they have held on to important values.
