"It is only after you have lost everything, that you can truly gain anything."

Yes, it is better to have loved and lost because you get to experience the happiness and depression it causes. If you are smart enough to learn from this, then your next relationship will mean even more to you because you'll work and fight even harder to keep a hold of the happiness and avoid the depression.

The more emotion and work that is put into a relationship, the more fruitful it will become.

yes, actually it is. if you've loved someone then you know what it's like to feel some of the most wonderful feelings in the world and to know that they're real, and you at least have those memories, and experiences in your life. and you'll never forget them. even the painful memories, and the way that you choose to deal with them help you to make decisions that will build character and help to make you someone who can understand the hurts of others, and to be a kind, and compassionate person, and a stronger person than you ever thought you could be. so yes, it is by far, better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.
Best Wishes.

Well, I think it depends on the person. Sometimes I wish I had never loved..and been loved by certain men in my past. The pain of a "break up" almost doesn't seem worth the brief love. I don't know though, I'm sure a lot of people will disagree. Maybe I just haven't found "Mr. Right" yet.....

Definitely. I wouldn't be who I am today without the things I went through with the first love of my life. She took advantage of my love, lied to me, cheated on me, but I don't regret the relationship. I learned a lot about love and who I am throughout that year.

To have lost is to try. And it is better to try then sit on your but. So yes.....it is inevitable that you will loose some things but gain others. To love and not love.

Probably. At least as long as there were some positive aspects to the love.
If it was one-sided and painful then maybe not.
