When I heard the news about Miss USA keeping her crown and going to rehab I was just "sickened" to my stomach and so very disappointed in the whole judging process. Where is the accountability? Miss Connor is a drug addict and she will be given jobs where she will be surrounded by the american public along with children while she has this addiction. Does the pageantry hold to any standards? Does the pageantry or Mr. Trump hold himself to any high standards? What kind of message is this sending to the pageant industry or to young women who feel that if you have a cute face or a nice body then your actions will not be held against you? I am very familiar with the eligibility of the USA pageantry and their are many high standards that a young woman must possess to even be qualified to be on the pageant, the fact that Miss Conner is allowed to keep her crown just makes the USA pageantry void and null. Anyone else feel the same?

Yes. It is a travesty. What kind of example are we setting for our children?

From the below article, it looks like she (VW) resigned her reign. Sure, it could have been a "resign or we'll decrown you" - but....

Oh and the girl should be decrowned. She's a role model to young women or should be - drugs and partying - they can see that with Lindsey Lohan

Vanessa Williams (born on March 18, 1963 in Millwood, New York) is a pop/R&B singer and actress who made history when she became the first African American woman to be crowned Miss America in September, 1983. She resigned close to the end of her reign on July 23, 1984, however, when it was discovered that she had posed nude for photographs that were later published in the September 1984 issue adult magazine Penthouse without her permission. The crown was given to Suzette Charles 54 days before the 1984 pageant

Yes, she should be held to the same standard as all other pageant winners. This woman is representing the U.S with her behavior. And it's grossly unfair that when Vanessa Williams was Miss USA, and they found out she had posed semi-nude previously in a magazine, they dropped her like a hot potato.

But she is Miss USA and is expected to act as such and follow certain standards. They decrowned Miss USA Vanessa Williams because of her nude photo blah blah blah, and now when another one decides to go against their standards they are dismissing it and making her go to rehab because she was drinking. That does not take away her mistake. So it is a double standard. This newest situation is not fair to Vanessa. But honestly I don't think anybody blames Conner for drinking. Many many underage women drink. It is almost expected these days...sadly. But it is not role model behavior and if she ran for Miss USA she should have known that. She just should not have gotten caught.

With all the "bad" in this world today, why the f*ck does something like this, concern you????????????????

IMHO the USA pageantry is "null and void", as it does NOTHING to make this world a better place!!! It's just a PR stunt...........

Go and volunteer in a children's hospital, one day a week, and do something useful w/ yourself, please!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that does make me upset. If Vanessa Williams couldn't keep her crown then Miss Connor shouldn't have been able to either.

I personally don't care for the whole Miss USA beauty pageant crap anyway. I think we should find ways to exhibit women's intelligence and heart instead of how much they can spend on plastic surgery.

I don't think he should've given her a second chance. She is suppose to be a role model. Letting her keep her crown is saying that her behavior is acceptable.

And I support pageants....

possibly the international have come to realize that persons do make errors and that alter could be accessible if only given a gamble. If we survive previous errors and only thrive for perfection then we can be residing in a society of clones. no you are able to truly say they have never broken a regulation or sin, in the event that they say they did no longer, i could quite prefer to fulfill JESUS.

Oh Lighten up! She's not an addict she just likes to get her drink on! And the only reason she's even going to rehab is to put a positive PR spin on the whole debauchle. She was underage, but not by much! BIG DEAL!
